AH!! It’s the most wonderful time of the yearrrrr!! *Did you just sing that like I just did?! I hope so!*
I am so SO excited that I FINALLY get to announce our Besties Do Service project that I have been working on with Camille at @mymommystyle on! This year we are thrilled to invite you to participate in the BIGGEST service projects that we have ever done!!
Every year the Bestie Squad LOVES to serve. One year we provided Christmas Shoe Boxes for kids in Africa. One year we raised money for families effected by natural disasters. One year we made backpacks full of blankets, onesies & diapers for less-fortunate moms & newborn babies. And this year the #BestiesDoService continues…in an incredibly exciting way!
This year has been so unique for my family and I. We moved our family states in March and it has been a HUGE adjustment for all of us. I have learned a lot and have grown from many experiences that have stretched me beyond my comfort zone.
I am so humbled today, to talk to you guys about our Besties Do Service With Style Project – a way for each of us to reach out and help those around us throughout the month of December.
You see, one thing I have learned this year of major CHANGE in my life – is that EVERYONE needs a friend that is there for them. EVERYONE needs a text that lets them know that they are loved. EVERYONE needs a treat delivered to their door. And EVERYONE needs to know that THEY ARE NOT ALONE.
I have felt loneliness this year. I have struggled finding my place and my voice and who I am in my new area. And because of that, I have been inspired to invite you to do 20 acts of service in 20 days for the PEOPLE AROUND YOU.
I want you to think of the many people you come in contact with on a daily basis. Really think about it. Friends. A Spouse. Children. Neighbors. Parents. Siblings. Strangers. Each one of them has their own story. Their own trials. Their own talents. And their own needs. Because of this, over the next month we are going to make sure that EACH OF THEM know {1} that they are LOVED and {b} that they are NOT alone.
Because honestly, those are the 2 things that I REALLY have needed to know the past few months and I know so many people feel the same. We HAVE to let everyone know how much they are loved and needed and absolutely not alone.
So… here are the deets!
WHAT IS THIS? Besties Do Service With Style is a service project AND holiday challenge for anyone who wants to participate! All are welcome and it’s pretty simple!! Every day you will choose a task on our “Service Bucket List” OR MAKE UP AN ACT OF SERVICE OF YOUR OWN and do a kind deed for someone else.
WHEN DO WE START? The challenge will begin on Monday, December 2nd and run for 20 days, ending on Saturday, December 21st. In the meantime though, save this photo and post it on your Instagram and/or Facebook stories to let us know that you are IN! Make sure you tag @todaysthebestday and @mymommystyle so we can see that you are IN!!

WAIT, THERE IS A PRIZE? Ohhhh did I forget to tell you?! AHHH! YES. Every time we have a challenge around here, you KNOW a prize is in store! The Grand Prize will be announced on Monday {the 2nd} so hang tight until then. But giiiiirlllll – t’s going to be absolutely amazing and our special way of GIVING BACK TO YOU this holiday season! Trust me. You are going to love it.
HOW DO I WIN THE PRIZE? If this is your first Bestie Challenge – WELCOME! And if you have done one before, entries will be similar to our last #BestieFallBucketList challenge! How it works, is every day you do an act of service, you will take a picture and post it to your Instagram feed using our hashtag #BestiesDoServiceWithStyle . Be sure to tag @todaysthebestday & @mymommystyle so we can see it too! Every photo that is posted is an entry to the prize!
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT MY SERVICE TO BE SHARED ONLINE? We absolutely get it! If you don’t wish to post your acts of service on Instagram, you do NOT have to! You can still participate for fun! In order to be eligible for the prize at the end though, you do need to share your photos and what you are doing.
Honestly, there are some really great ways that you can post about your acts of service without feeling like you are bragging or showing off. Think of every photo that you post as LIGHTING THE WORLD. You are SHARING GOODNESS. You are sharing light and kindness and your photos and stories will be an inspiration to your family and friends!
YOU GUYS. I am soooo excited for this special service project!! I was doing some quick math and realized that if ALL OF YOU that read this message {approximately 100,000 of you!} participated in this challenge and did 20 acts of service for 20 days… we could serve and show love to 2,000,000 PEOPLE!! TWO MILLION. Is that unreal, or what?!!?
I am so blessed to know you. I love you. I am excited to serve with you. I can’t wait to spread light and goodness and happiness to EVERYONE around us this holiday season! This is going to be GOOD!!
