5 Tricks for Getting Your Man to Look (and Feel) His Best

We all know that eating right and exercising will help to keep anyone in shape. But did you know that there is more you can do than badger your man to hit the gym more often and to lay off the pizza and beer? In fact, implementing these simple tricks have an almost immediate effect on his overall appearance.

5 Tricks for Getting Your Man to Look (and Feel) His Best

1. Get Rid of Unwanted Hair

This may seem obvious, but not everyone has caught on yet. While the majority of millennial guys manscape (57% – and some even shave their underarms), some only trim. But, for now, we’re going to talk about the hair on his face. Scraggly nose hair or unsightly ear hair isn’t sexy, so buy a pair of tweezers (usually just a few dollars at your local drug store) and pluck, pluck, pluck. (Make sure they grasp the hair firmly with the tweezers and pull in the direction of the hair growth). Do this once a week. Also, if he has unruly eyebrows, consider getting them professionally waxed or shaped, which is inexpensive and a much better alternative to doing them yourself. (I should also add that men can tame the hair on their heads by getting regular haircuts or trims).

2. Stand up Straight

This is a trick that has an immediate payoff (and who doesn’t like that). By improving his posture (standing up straight with his shoulders back), he’ll appear leaner and more muscular. Additionally, when standing properly, he’ll exude more confidence. That’s a definite win!

3. Kiss Dry Lips Goodbye

We all know about brushing, flossing (twice a day), and whitening (professionally or at home). But did you know that there are extra steps he can take to improve his smile and show off those pearly whites? He can get his lips kissably soft by lightly running a dry toothbrush over them to remove dead skin. Then, he can apply a non-noticeable chap stick during the day and a healing balm before bed.

4. Spruce up His Wardrobe

It takes time to build a good wardrobe. If your man is still wearing t-shirts from his college fraternity days, it may be time for an update (or an overhaul). Here are some staple pieces that should be in every man’s closet: a navy suit or blazer, white dress shirts, dark denim, and neutral colored tees, all of which should fit well and not be tight.

To freshen up a wardrobe, consider gifting your guy with winter’s hottest trends, such as a shearling jacket (made of leather and sheepskin and is versatile enough to be worn over a V-neck tee or a collared button-up) or wide-leg trousers. More great options this season are olive green or checkered pieces and roll neck shirts (aka turtlenecks) and graphic knits (sweaters with bold patterns). The best part? You can snag some of these must-haves for cheap using coupons for PacSun.com and similar companies and he’ll look like a million bucks without spending that. Score!

5. Care about His Skin

Speaking of lips, want some tips for better overall skin? Figure out his skin type (dry, oily, or combination) and buy the proper facial wash (i.e. guys with dry skin need a cleanser with a creamy texture). He needs to use this daily for best results. Also, consider a hydrating moisturizer eye cream to combat signs of aging and damaging UV rays.

With these tips, your man will be looking his best from head to toe. They’re simple changes that can make a difference in his appearance and self-esteem.
