9 REASONS MOMS ARE EXCEPTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE

You’ve heard them… or maybe you have even said them yourself.

“Don’t judge me, I didn’t shower today.”

“Close your eyes… I didn’t have time to get ready!”

We all have days where we just kind of look like a mom.

The bun on the top of your head. The leggings you’ve been wearing for days. The tee that has so many stains on it, you don’t remember what each of them are from. The look of exhaustion, mixed with energy! The look of stress, mixed with happiness!

We have all been there.

We have all had that moment when we finally have a minute to look in the mirror at the end of the day and are surprised to see the girl looking back at us.

“Oh! I went out in public looking like this?!”

But then a little voice inside of us reminds us that our look is something to be proud of….. because we look like moms!

Moms come in all shapes and sizes, but we all have something in common. We have love for the little lives that we have been entrusted with every day. Through the long hours and crazy schedules we march on knowing that our work is one with a uniform that separates us from others.

But does looking like mom have to be a bad thing?

Of course not.

The mom look has a beauty all of its own and though our outward appearance may be questionable at times, moms are beautiful….even if they don’t feel like it sometimes.

Next time you are having one of those long moments in the mirror picking cheerios out of your crusted hair….remind yourself of these 9 reasons why YOU as a mom, are exceptionally attractive.

9 reasons moms are exceptionally attractive

1. YOU ROCK THE SHIRT WITH SPIT-UP:

Have you ever seen a mom with a clean shirt on? The thing about a mom’s shirt is that it tells a story. Every stain and every spot tells you a little something about her day. A splotch of blue paint, tells you she took the time to pull out the art supplies and create a messy masterpiece with her kids. A stain of ketchup, tells you she made breakfast for her family. And maybe a mark of brown, means she played in the dirt with her children, pulled the weeds out back or had a sippy cup of chocolate milk spill on her as she was running out the door. Whatever the stain may be, it shows the important roll she played that day.

2. YOU EMBRACE THE POOPEY PANTS:

Not her poop on her pants, but a little human’s poop on her pants. She may have scrubbed it off, but then it happened again. She may have didn’t notice, because she is simply use to it by now. Her dirty pants show you that she took care of a baby today. And that she put someone else before herself.

3. YOU MAKE TOP KNOTS LOOK SO GOOD:

Have you ever seen anyone look better in a bun, than a mom? Buns mean that she didn’t even have time to brush her own hair today, or maybe even wash it. Buns mean busy. They mean fun. They mean comfortable. And they mean mommy business.

4. YOU CAN PULL OFF LEGGINGS DAILY:

And there isn’t anything wrong with it. Maybe she doesn’t fit into her pre-baby jeans because she grew a baby inside of her for nine months and her body has changed. She may fit into them one day, but she may never fit into them again. But her body is perfect, because she was pregnant. She gave birth. And now, she is a mom.

5. YOUR SHOES ARE TORN:

You run. You play. You walk. You work. She wears flats for grocery shopping to buy food for her family and tennis shoes for walks outside to stay healthy and active. She wears slippers in the kitchen to make breakfast, lunch and dinner and another pair for the bathroom to potty train, bathe and clean. A mother’s shoes have stood while working on the piles of laundry. And flip-flops in the car as she plays taxi driver. She runs around the park playing chase and serves people without even thinking of herself. Her shoes may not be in perfect condition, but they are torn because of everything she has done.

6. YOUR MAKE-UP ISN’T PERFECT:

And they don’t really mind either. A little blush? A little mascara? It’s all she needs…if that. Her lipstick comes off quick, because of the boo-boos she kissed to make feel better. Her mascara doesn’t stay on too long, because of the hormones and emotions motherhood brings to you. And her blush blends in with the dirty, sticky finger marks on her cheeks from her baby squeezing her face. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

7. YOUR LEFT FINGERNAILS ARE PAINTED, BUT NOT YOUR RIGHT:

Moms seem to be in a hurry a lot – trying to get to one place to the next. And for some reason as soon as they sit down to paint their nails, they get one hand done, but then they are needed again. It isn’t until they are out and about running errands, when they notice they forgot to go back and finish their right hand. But it’s okay, she’ll get to it eventually.

8. ONE OF YOUR ARMS IS STRONGER THAN THE OTHER:

Moms carry carseats with babies and toddlers who forget how to walk. They carry bags of groceries and loads of laundry through the entire house. They also rock a fussy baby to sleep and steal cuddles from their children.

9. YOUR SMILES ARE REAL:

NEVER will you ever see a more perfect smile. A mother’s smile is full of love, compassion, excitement, completion, exhaustion, sacrifice, satisfaction, joy and complete happiness.

The Moral of the Story:

Being attractive to some is a combination of sex appeal and waist size but being a mom is so much more than that.

Moms take beauty to a whole new level as something that should be more celebrated than shunned.

We look in the mirror and see the dirt under our nails, the stains on our shirts and the buns on our heads and we see someone who is truly exceptional.
