The balls absorb the water and turns to steam to remove wrinkles AND spreads clothes out so more surface is available for heat. They actually completely replace fabric softener and dryer sheets so you can keep chemicals off your clothes and towels, leaving your laundry soft and fluffy! Based on the company’s research the dryer balls should last at least 5 years. Talk about saving money too!
This is what the balls look like. “Each ball is a little bigger than the size of a tennis ball after I did the felting process. The tennis ball is in the picture to show the size comparison. Each of these balls weighs about 1.5 oz. The heavier the balls the more chances of the balls lifting the clothes while tumbling the more the drying time is saved,” says Michelle, owner of Browns Wool Dryer Balls.
“I personally use my own set of dryer balls in the dryer and my clothes always comes out fluffy and soft. My drying time was 75% or less of the normal drying time and there was no static cling. Most of my family’s clothes are natural fibers though.” Read more reviews and details here.
Another fun thing about the balls is making your clothes have a scent through essential oils! A few drops of essential oils on each ball will last about a week. **Make sure the oil dries completely before you use in dryer with your clothes. Essential oils can stain your clothes.
