DIY Chalkboard Wall

Are you looking for a fun way to spice up your children’s play room?! I have JUST the solution for you!

DIY Chalkboard Wall

Laila was over at a play date the other day at our friends house when I noticed their wall. It wasn’t just a regular wall – it was black and the kids were coloring on it! It was a CHALKBOARD WALL! I thought this was something that was only on Pinterest and in “dream homes,” but quickly learned that it is real and can be done in ANY home!

This is the PERFECT idea for a playroom! There are several different kinds of chalkboard paint, but the best is Rust-Oleum Specialty, Flat Black Chalkboard Paint that can be purchased here Rust-Oleum 206540 Chalkboard Brush-On, Black, 30-Ounce. Not only can it be used on walls, but I have seen it painted on tables too for a DIY Chalkboard Table for the kids to color on! Put the crayons and markers away and pull out the chalk! Chalk is easy to clean and doesn’t stain, which makes for an easy clean up! In fact when you are ready to wash the wall, just use a damp washcloth and wash the chalk away and the wall be ready for the next round of fun!

Laila is only one and she even LOVED coloring with the chalk. She could have stayed there all day drawing on the wall. She was so focused! I can’t wait to have a playroom in my next house that I will be able to do this to! Buy the paint Rust-Oleum 206540 Chalkboard Brush-On, Black, 30-Ounce and try it in your home! The kids will LOVE it – such a fun way to make today the BEST day!

I LOVE this. Sadly, we don’t own; we’re renters, so I can’t do this yet, but it’s pinned as a future idea.

I love this idea, but never did it for my girls. Maybe now that they’re a little older they would use it more.
