If you’re a Mom, Congratulations! You now belong to a club where millions of women are all trying to stay sane! Like you, my kids are my top priority. No success can compensate for failure in the home.
However, I learned early on in Motherhood that for my overall happiness, I had to make it a priority to give myself some “Me” time.
“Me” time comes in various forms and everybody’s is different. It can consist of a hobby you enjoy, a new exercise program, a massage, reading a book alone in a Barnes and Noble, or getting friends together for a girls night out. It is something that makes YOU feel good about yourself!
After I had kids, my “Me” time consisted of taking continuing education classes to stay current with the latest trends in the Skin and Makeup industry.
My name is Ashley Jenkins and I am a Mom of 3. Ages 3,6, and 9. I have been married 11 years, and I’m from North Carolina.
I am an Esthetician and Professional Makeup Artist. Because of my Me Time, I have learned a lot of useful information on products, tips, and how to save money in the beauty industry.
Today I wanted to share some easy steps and products for Moms to get ready fast!
1.Organize your space. I went through all my makeup and took my top 5 products and put them in a small makeup bag to help me get ready fast.
2. Choose Fast Makeup that you don’t need brushes to apply:
-Tinted Moisturizer: My favorites are Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. If your Super Oily skip the tinted moisturizer and choose a Powder Foundation. My 3 favorites are Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye, and NYX HD Concealer.
-Blush: Maybelline Master Glaze(these come in the stick form, and you just use your fingers to apply on the apples of the cheeks.
-Mascara: My favorites are Benefit they’re real and Mary Kay Lash Love.
– Lip gloss/or a Bold Lip:NYX Butter Gloss or Maybelline Vivid Lipsticks
3. Use Multi-Purpose Products. Tinted moisturizers double as two functions. BB creams can also include concealer, primer, and foundation in one(Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfecter is amazing) Multi-Sticks for lips, cheeks, and eyes are also great(Nars Multiple Sticks are a suburb option for this)
4. Invest in a Finishing Spray for your makeup so you don’t have to re-apply your makeup throughout the day. It saves you money in the long run! My favorite is Urban Decay Setting Spray
5. Skip Washing your hair every day and invest in a Dry Shampoo. My favorite is Batiste Dry Shampoo
6. After you have applied your favorite Body Lotion, smooth whatever is left on your hand to tame fly aways.
**Self-Tanning Face Gels are a Mom’s best friend! Typically we use foundations to add some color to our face to brighten it up. I don’t have a lot of time for makeup as a car pool mom, but self tanners for the face last me about a week of not having to wear foundation! My two favorites are TanWise Self-tanning Face gel and FakeBake Bronzing Gel. Both have a natural glow! No orange, No super dark brown. You can find them here or here! Make sure you apply it to your face, neck, and décolleté.
These few guidelines have proven to be time savers for me, hopefully you can benefit as well!
