Many of you know I LOVE shopping. I could seriously go every day. I love buying things for myself, but I prefer shopping for Laila. Tyson and I always joke that we are pretty sure she has more clothes than both of us combined. I absolutely love dressing her up and finding the trendiest clothes for my little lady. Every little girl {and boy} deserves to be dressed to the nines. Unfortunately, a lot of us are on tight budgets though so it is hard to go shopping as often as we would like. BUT that is where Fashion Tip #8 comes in… SHOP THE SALES. It’s all I do!
The other day I was looking to buy some boots for Laila. I went to a store that was asking $35 for boots… for a baby! I struggle spending $35 on shoes for myself and just could not find it in me to spend that much money on shoes for her. Baby feet grow SO quickly and if she wore them today, I felt like she would outgrow them by tomorrow! I I decided to be patient and am WAITING for them to go on sale! (Sometimes waiting is the hardest part. But worth it!)
This shirt Laila is wearing was only $4.00 at Old Navy and you will NEVER believe how much the shorts were… $1.00. Yes, a DOLLAR! It may take some time, but go to a store and find their SALE rack. I highly recommend going through the rack one article of clothing at a time. You never know what you will find! When a store’s new clothing line comes in for the season, all of their leftover clothes will be put on the rack. You can either buy clothes a year in advance (which I honestly struggle with…I would rather buy her an outfit she can wear TODAY, than have to wait a year!) or you can buy them for now. For example, these shorts you would think would only be for Summer! BUT I added some black tights and boots to them and she is wearing them TODAY in this cold weather. She is warm, cozy and totally pulls off the look! They are perfect!
Next time you are in a store, check out the sale rack. See what you can find for CHEAP and how you can make it work! If you LOVE something (like the boots I am EYING) and it seems out of your budget… have some patience. Keep looking. There are deals everywhere!
Special Hint: OLD NAVY, GAP, TARGET, and H&M have my most favorite Sale Racks! GAP normally marks their clothing down on WEDNESDAYS. Target normally puts their kids clothing on Sale on MONDAYS.
