I love little baby shoes! I actually had a really hard time finding shoes that fit Laila’s chunky feet until she was about one year old – but now that her feet are slimming down and she is walking, I have been on a shoe craze! I love finding her cute and soft ones that she can wear all day and still be comfortable! I am excited to introduce you to Lil Sweetie Pies – a shop that makes the perfect shoes for little ones AND bags, blankets and bibs too!
Gloria, owner and creator of Lil Sweetie Pies started sewing when she was only 11 years old and it has become a life long passion of hers! She says, “I made all my high school cloths and at the young age of 19 I made my wedding gown. While raising 3 children I often made their cloths. For over 30 yrs I have worked on quilts. I have 9 wonderful grandchildren and it is time to go back to designing again. There are some amazing fabric artists out there….So let the fun begin!”
After I started talking to Gloria, I quickly grew to have a deeper love and appreciation for her shop. Her “Lil Sweetie Pie” was her beloved son that she lost just 18 months ago. He grew to become a brave green beret, but passed away on November 10, 2012. He fought for his country for 14 YEARS and to this day, he is STILL her Lil Sweetie Pie – Thus, the name of her cute shop came to be as she went back to her roots of sewing with beautiful fabrics. She says, “Being a mom was my greatest achievement in life.”
Gloria uses top quality quilt shop cottons and organic Sherpa. They are all so detailed and just perfect for every baby! Her shop has boy AND girl items!
