I love Christmas Sunday! It was so fun to see everyone in their pretty Christmas dresses and hearing the Christmas program at church. I sang in the ward choir for the first time ever… can you believe it?! I officially feel like an adult. I always thought “moms” sang in the choir and I guess I officially am one! 🙂 It was a day full of beautiful music, love and the spirit.
One of my favorite songs by Kenneth Cope is More Than Just a Boy. This is how it begins:
“My Mary, You’re having a baby
A Savior, From Heaven He comes
An Angel, Told me what to name Him
He’ll be Jesus, You’re having a son
But He’ll be more than just a boy
More than any man
So who am I to help this boy, I’ll do all I can.
Yet, it is He, Who will help me.”
I love that in this song Joseph says, “Who am I to help this boy? I’ll do all I can. Yet, it is He who will help ME.” I am grateful for Mary and Joseph. What righteous people Heavenly Father chose to be our Savior’s earthly parents. I have been thinking a lot lately of when Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem and nobody had room for them in their inns. I wonder if the innkeepers reactions would have been different had they known who Mary and Joseph were.
“Each of us is an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus.” – Neal A. Maxwell. I hope we all make room in our homes for Christ this week. I hope we think of him often and feel his love. I am grateful for Him and for the life he led. I will ALWAYS have room for Jesus in my “inn”… this Season and forever!
