We are moving right along on this Mommy Madness journey – I loved seeing your fun activities, crafts and experiments you worked on yesterday with your little ones! How fun to have the opportunity EVERY day this month, to just soak in the little moments of being a mom. YOU are an amazing lady! YOU are doing amazing things! Thank you for treasuring your cute kids – I feel so SO grateful to be doing this challenge with a group of truly amazing people! You ladies are FUN!
One of my favorite quotes that I have printed out and hanging in my house is “Let them be little – cause they’re only that way for a while.”
It seems to catch my eye when I need to be reminded of it most – often times it is the moments I am about to give up. Or the moments am closing my eyes and taking a deep breath because I am about to lose it. Or the moments that I start to think, “I can’t wait for her to be older and understand!”
But then I see it – “Let them be little.” And the words hit my heart and I remember she is only this little for a short short time! And I suddenly forgive quicker. Laugh more. Love deeper. Cherish every minute. And hold on to her… in hopes she never lets me go. And even secretly hope she DOES stay little forever.
Welcome to Day Twelve of Mommy Madness – Today is called “Anything Can Happen Thursday.” {If you are a Big Bang Theory Fan – you already understand what that means}
Today we are truly taking the quote “let them be little” literally. We will be letting our kids be little – and letting anything happen {of course within reason}. So often as moms we hold the role as the rule maker, the discipliner, the schedule maker and the instructor {which is important and very good!} BUT today we are taking a little break. Today you get to step back for a minute and let the littles take charge.
Today’s Challenge is as follows: Your children are to decide what you will be doing today {of course it has to be within reason and fit within your schedule}. But today you will assign a slot of time for THEM to choose what THEY want to do! ANYTHING can happen – and your challenge is to do WHATEVER they want. You can’t say “no” – you can’t say “maybe later” – whatever they want to do, they get to do.
Whether it is going to the park or playing with toys inside. Maybe it will be to watch their favorite show on tv or for you to read the same book over and over again to them. Maybe it will be to go out to dinner or have a friend over. Or maybe it will be to eat yummy treats and take a nap {that’s what I would choose if I were them! haha 🙂 }
No matter what it is –Â they get to do it! No “Nos” today – because it is ANYTHING Can Happen Thursday!
Remember, today’s challenge is to show your kids that life is to be enjoyed and that you enjoy spending your life with them. Their opinion matters and they matter to you.
It may be silly and you may end up playing play dough or playing video games, but make sure you take a picture so you can look back in a year or so and remember that one day when the kids got to choose anything they wanted to do and made fun memories together!
If you have an infant and all they want to do is sit around and smile – just spend some time creating memories sitting around and smiling. Enjoy your kids no matter what stage or how old they are.
I can’t wait to hear what your littles want to do! I am sure I will spend the day at the park, painting and “building cakes” with play-dough. Have fun “letting them be little.”
Just as a reminder: Pin THIS image on Pinterest right now from our Mommy Madness Challenge board. {IMPORTANT: It must be pinned from that specific board and be that pin so we can get your entries in for the day!} Then after you complete the challenge, come back to Pinterest and comment on our Day TWELVE Pin {THIS pin} and tell us that you did it!
