I grew up in a home where music was EVERYTHING! My mom ALWAYS had music playing. We danced. We sang. We played instruments. And I even learned my phone number, address, how to count by 3’s and 4’s, and even the states of our country in alphabetical order ALL through SONG!
Music is so important in my life and I knew from the beginning it would be an important part of my children’s lives too! I have carried on the tradition of always having music in my home – in fact, I love to have my babes start listening to music even in the womb before they are born!
My girl has been wanting to learn how to play the piano and violin for what seems like FOREVER – so I have slowly been introducing her to the instruments as she is getting older! It’s so fun to see her learning and growing, you guys! MY BABY!! How is she old enough for this?! Time is flying, I tell ya!
I am SO excited to be partnering with Guitar Center today to share 5 ways that music can change your child’s life. You guys, music education is SO important and from it there are so many benefits! I grew up playing the piano and violin – to this day it’s so fun to pick them up and play! And after I married Tys who is SO good at the guitar, he taught me a few chords that I like to strum too! Because we have all 3 of these instruments in our home, of course L wants to play them ALL too! We have decided to start with the piano to teach her the treble clef notes and how to read music, and from there we will expand to the violin and guitar.

AND LASTLY: It helps them learn to express themselves and gives them an outlet to express their feelings through song.
