When you are invited to a party and you are assigned to bring a dessert or you hear your friend is sick and you want to bring her a special treat or your in the mood to bake and want to surprise your kids with a special after school snack, do you have that “go-to” recipe that is easy, yet absolutely delicious? After I share this secret family recipe with you, you just might change your “go-to” dessert to this one.
My mother-in-law is famous for her chocolate chip cookies. These cookies aren’t your normal chocolate chip cookies either – they are perfection. They are the perfect amount of soft and chewy, they have the perfect ratio of chocolate chips vs dough and to top it off they are perfectly drizzled with chocolate on top… this is where they get their name The PERFECT Drizzled Chocolate Chip Cookies.
INGREDIENTS: 2 1/4 cups of flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 16 TB. butter (2 sticks) softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 12 oz. package semisweet chocolate chips INGREDIENTS FOR CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE: 6 oz. chocolate chips 6 oz. white chocolate chips vegetable oil DIRECTIONS: – Combine: flour, baking soda and salt – set aside – Combine: butter, granulated and brown sugars and vanilla mix until creamy – Beat in eggs, gradually add the flour mixture and stir in 12oz semisweet chocolate chips – Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased baking sheet – Bake for 10 to 11 minutes. The cookies should still be soft when removed from the oven. – Place on a rack to cool – In microwave, in separate cups, melt the semisweet and white chocolate chips – Add a small amount of vegetable oil to each chocolate – Drizzle chocolate over cookies and allow to cool and solidify Makes 2 Dozen CookiesEnjoy these PERFECT Drizzled Chocolate Chip Cookies! Warning: You can’t just eat one. You will want another… and then another… and then probably another.
