You guys. I STILL can’t even believe I am pregnant! This experience has been SO unreal – it has taken MONTHS for me to realize that maybe this is actually REALLY happening and I am not just living a really long DREAM?!
We like to have a good time around here! If there is any excuse to throw a party or to celebrate something…we are ALL over it! So when week 17 came in my pregnancy and we were to find out the gender of this little miracle babe, of course a Gender Reveal Party was in ORDER!
I honestly could NOT trust myself with the envelope the doctor handed me with the ultrasound inside… I knew I would peek before the party and I really REALLY didn’t want to cheat! So I had my doc {the BEST BEST BEST doc in town!!} hang on to it for 5 whole days, until it was time for the party!
My man and I wanted to do the reveal different than we had ever seen. The balloons out of the box is adorable. The balloon popping with confetti looks awesome. Silly string thrown at the couple is super fun. But we were stumped…what is something we have always wanted to do, but haven’t had the chance in our 29 years of life?
And then it came to us…well, not us, I should say HIM…because he is the creative one in our relationship and it was 100% his idea! He said, two words… SLIME. TIME.
So, OBVIOUSLY we had to make our wildest dream come true and have a SLIME TIME Gender Reveal Party!
Ladies, Gender Reveal parties do NOT have to be CRAZY expensive or CRAZY big! We just invited our family for a more intimate setting and set up a SUPER easy Waffle Bar! The kids made slime and were able to take some home {that was a huge hit!} and we got slimed! It was perfection.
Since you are thinking… I NEED TO DO THIS! Because let’s be real, isn’t it ALLLLL of our childhood dreams to get slimed like we are on Nickelodeon?! … We have step by step instructions on everything you need to have the most successful Slime Time Gender Reveal Party!

- OLD clothes underneath that you don’t mind ruining
- Big ole paint goggles to protect your eyes
- A mini swimming pool to stand in

HOMEMADE SLIME FOR KIDS:
Things you need:
- Elmer’s White School Glue Bottles {1 per person}
- 1 Teaspoon Borax
- Food Coloring
- Water
Instructions:
- Pour glue into a medium size bowl {we used paper cups we had from the party and they worked perfect!}
- Fill your empty glue bottle with warm water, replace cap and shake the bottle.
- Pour the water in your bowl and mix with glue. Add your food coloring too!
- Stir until the water, glue and food coloring are mixed perfectly!
- In a small cup mix 1/2 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon borax until dissolved.
